We hit the slopes early about 9:30 and made the most of the fresh runs. It was pretty this morning. The sun was shining bright and the clouds were clearing.
I headed off to the other side of the valley and up to the peak where Meribel meets St Martins de Belleville. It was another world up there. No trees, just clear fresh snow and sky!
The view down to the village as I made my way down was spectacular also. From up here you get a clear view of the scale of this place. It's monstrous!
I made my way back over to the Saluire side if the valley and met up with Sim for lunch at a cute little terrace restaurant called La Cour de Cristal. We sat out on the terrace in the sun and admired the view sipping wine and resting up. We were in our element, albeit for sore legs and knees!
Dessert was awesome too! Profiteroles with salted caramel ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce! Simi had a sample of macorons ! Awsome!
So far our best dining experience on the snow!
We skied some more in the arvo and I took sim over to where I was this morning. Probably wasn't the best place to be in the arvo as the mountain shaded the slopes and the temperature cooled. However it was enjoyable nonetheless.
By the end however Sim was very tired and headed back home! I went up for one last run. I was feeling good however in the shadows of the trees and with the runs being chopped up from a full day of use, I lost sight of a bump and I didn't see it coming and had a pretty big stack! Thank god for my helmet.
We headed out in the evening and strolled the streets again looking at the menus and window shopping a bit. It's a pretty town. Very alpine in its architecture. The best part is the sound. The trickle of running water in creeks and rivlets is everpresent and the birds in the trees are always making noise too.
We decided on a simple dinner, pasta and lasagna each. Was a nice cosy place with plenty of people in their (including one of our canine friends again - see over simi's shoulder above)
The town is full of Brits. I would say half the people here are English. Half of the sound like Theon from the Iron Islands in Game of Thrones.
